War Times

General description

War times is a small 2D action game, in top down view, where you play a lost soldier behind ennemy lines. Find weapons and ammo, and go to your initial objectif without getting killed.

This project is made with Unity and is a training for self teaching game dev. There is currently only 1 level that is very short but let you see the current capability of the game.

Feel free to provide improvement ideas to let met continue the work on it.

Game content

You control a lost soldier and have to complete your objectives on the map. you have many weapons:

• The knife one shot ennemies but is slow, can easily bump on solid surfaces, and is very limited as ammo. You need to pick it back to be able to throw it again.
• The gun has 20 ammo and deals medium damage but is slow to shoot. You can find it in every level.
• The machine gun has 100 ammo, deals high damage and shoot rapidly. You can find it but is pretty well hidden.
• The shotgun has 30 ammo, shoot 3 bullets in 3 different direction and deals high damage but shoot slowly. You currently cannot find it.

Kill the ennemies they have limited life and shoot slowly when they detect you. Crouching allow you to be less detectable.

Pickup the crates you will get ammo for the weapon you are currently using, some are reusable, some are objectives, the ammo contained is variable.

Contols

Use the mouse to point direction to shoot at and left click to shoot with your current weapon. Right click to send a knife (if you have one).

Use Z, Q, S, D to move on the map and SPACE to crouch.

Roadmap

• Adding tunnel system that teleport user
• Trigger ennemies with proximity sound
• Add a time limited objective
• Improvement of the current existing level
• Adding new level during night
• Adding level in another environment (beach ?)

Bug fixing/Improvement in the future

• Improve screen size adaptation (currently best on 1980 x 1024)
• Add option menu to change controls, sound levels
